Colin turned six this year. Six. It is really a hard concept to grasp that we have been molding this child for six years already. He is my non-fiction-question- everything kid. He loves to know if it is real or not. When he pretend plays, he knows the parts that can happen and the others that don't. He loves watching Monster Bug Wars, in particular, the fight between a Hooded Mantis and the Brazilian Wondering Spider. He also loves learning about space and all of its amazing wonders. Some of the stuff he finds out gives me the creeps. Such as what if our Sun became unstable like other stars in the galaxy. From what we have found out, scientists and astronomers believe we are good for a few more billion years but leave a small percentage for the unknown. CREEPY!
In medical news, I am so happy to say everything is great. We thought 2012 would be a year for a two-part surgery. We only needed the one and Dr. Urologist doesn't want to see Colin for two years. Dr. Endocrinology is keeping an eye on his growth. He is going to be of short stature. No matter how many drugs we pump in him, this will be his truth. It is what it is. Our pediatrician retired so now we see the PA's in the office. According to them, he is healthy, caught up on his immunizations, and is how he should be now.
We love this little guy more than we could ever express. He makes life a beautiful complicated swirl and we wouldn't have it any other way.
Pictures below are of birthday celebrations. On his actual birthday, we went and ate yummy doughnuts at Lamar's. For his birthday party, we went to Monkey Bizness. It was nuts.
