Free Night!

We got a free night at The Oxford Hotel because of the crappy review B gave them. We stayed there for a night for our anniversary and the room, was well, super craptacular. Historic charm my a$$. They said they are in the process of updating and would like us to try out an updated room. Ummm sure. Yeah! Hopefully, we can get one of the Grandmas to watch Squirt again. I think they are the only ones in the world that think it's *cute* he wakes so darn early. Anyway, I'm excited. This is a lesson to all: make sure if you don't like something, let them know. Never know if you will get something for free. :)

Squirt won't sit still for any more pictures lately(I only can take one type of picture), so poor little Aiden is my victim each time I watch her. I got some new actions for my scrapbooking and wanted to test them out.

Endo Visit

Squirt now absolutely knows that people in white coats are going to touch him and freaks out. Thank goodness B went with me to see the madness.
Dr. Kappy walked in and greeted B and I with smiles. Squirt started screaming and Dr. Kappy gave him a warm introduction with a kiss on the hand. That simple gesture seemed to put Squirt at ease (me too, really). It really absolutely means the world to me to see one of his doctors go out of their way for him. We've seen a few that only think of kids as a number, so it's really nice to meet a great one.
We went over all of his information and it was decided that he wanted to be in the loop to watch his growth. His growth seems to be rebounding so he wants to hold off on any invasive testing. He is now 28.25 in (end of Feb he was 27.5) and weighs 16lbs 9oz. If his growth continues to rebound and his weight continues to flat line, we will be sent over to the clinic for kids who have Failure to Thrive. We had a few tests run today and he will call with the results as soon as he gets them. We have another appointment in August.
While speaking to Dr. Kappy, I almost made an a$$ of myself. He was taking a little history and asked something about my last period. I was counting in my head and thinking how is that going to help Squirt's growth. Then he repeated the question "So do you remember what age you started your period?" That made a little more sense.

Link!

March of Dimes link :)

I love the ultrasound pictures.

In between constantly looking at his parts, heart, measuring, and coming up all the possible defects he could have in the many ultrasounds, we got to see that sweet boy that God had blessed us with. I always asked to end our sessions on a happy note, usually I just wanted to see his face. This was one of them.

If 30cc is one ounce........
Next time you are in the grocery store, pick up 2 pounds of meat. It's the strangest most heartbreaking thought to think he (and other babies) started off that small.

First time B got to hold Squirt. We were told earlier that day if we held him, we would kill him. The night nurse Carrie set the record straight and the lazy nurse from the day shift had a different tune with us the next day.

My favorite piggies!

This elephant is soooo small.
Some of the life saving equipment.

Lutheran's NICU is, well, dumpy. In 2010 they will have a new shiny facility, hopefully not used too often :)

Marching On

I am such a slacker about this years March of Dimes walk. It is April 26th. If you would like to walk with us, we would love to have you. If not, can you send me a buck or two? Those hard earned dollars will provide research, education, and services.
March of Dimes mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. I'll post some links soon, right now I am having a bit of trouble.
********Now I officially love Eli Manning. He is the serving as the NYC celebrity chairman for MOD's. I still love Peyton more :)****************
If you have 2 bucks, send one over to March of Dimes and the other one to Great Strides, walk for CF. I am so honored to help support the Nolan family again this year. They are on the brink of a fabulous drug but need money to get it out there.

This post doesn't do either of these great foundations any justice but I got it out there, so it's a start.

Thank you all so very, very, very much!

Love to all!

Packing on the Pounds....again

Sonic is roaming free in our house today so that should tell you everyone is on the mend. I feel so bad that I haven't had anything in my system other than Gatorade for a week and now I am compelled to load it with crap. I'm am definitely doing a cleanse this week just have to go to Wild Oats to get the fresh veggies (even knowing I just ate crap eating something healthy grosses me out way more). I will do it because I actually need it.
My sweet squirting Squirt is still dealing with a tiny, tiny bit of diarrhea. It looks like he is going to have for it for the 10 days. At its peak, this disgusting bug was having us change filled diapers every 4-12 minutes. No joke. Normal would be 8 diapers in 8 hours. We had met the 8 quota in a little over an hour. Our doc was shocked at the amount that was coming out of him and he wasn't dehydrated. Thank goodness for LiquiLytes. We had 24 hours minute by minute fun. He started to get a pretty nasty diaper rash until we made the best diaper rash cream ever (I'm pretty sure Triple Paste and Butt Paste are the best, but they just didn't cut it this time).
Equal amounts of Mylanta and Aquaphor. Mix those two together (mix, mix, and mix) and VIOLA! Slapped it on that cute little butt and a few diaper changes later things were clear again. Now we are back to using Butt Paste and will hopefully never have to pull out the M&A cream again. That recipe was courtesy of Betsy, the super- awesome PA.
We are quite thankful to be feeling well again :)

Please, please send your prayers to the Smith family.

I have loads of other junk to post about (like how I serenated on a piano to a song called "in and out") soon but for now I must go and kill any germs that are left.

Yuck

Sorry for the lack of updates, our household has the stomach flu at the moment. Squirt was the first victim starting early Monday, I got it Tuesday night, and B fell victim last night. No one is over it.......really bad bug.
Poor Squirt has been begging to eat or drink something but for last few days but wasn't able to hold anything down. He's lost a little over a pound. :( Good news today is that he at least holding stuff down. We just have to deal with his constant "squirts" which could last up to 10 days. Let's hope not though.
Ugh! No fun!
