Squirt now absolutely knows that people in white coats are going to touch him and freaks out. Thank goodness B went with me to see the madness.
Dr. Kappy walked in and greeted B and I with smiles. Squirt started screaming and Dr. Kappy gave him a warm introduction with a kiss on the hand. That simple gesture seemed to put Squirt at ease (me too, really). It really absolutely means the world to me to see one of his doctors go out of their way for him. We've seen a few that only think of kids as a number, so it's really nice to meet a great one.
We went over all of his information and it was decided that he wanted to be in the loop to watch his growth. His growth seems to be rebounding so he wants to hold off on any invasive testing. He is now 28.25 in (end of Feb he was 27.5) and weighs 16lbs 9oz. If his growth continues to rebound and his weight continues to flat line, we will be sent over to the clinic for kids who have Failure to Thrive. We had a few tests run today and he will call with the results as soon as he gets them. We have another appointment in August.
While speaking to Dr. Kappy, I almost made an a$$ of myself. He was taking a little history and asked something about my last period. I was counting in my head and thinking how is that going to help Squirt's growth. Then he repeated the question "So do you remember what age you started your period?" That made a little more sense.
