We had our follow-up urology visit with Dr. Furness and found that Squirt will need two more surgeries. We scheduled the next surgery for June 6th and it will run about 3.5 hours. Dr. Furness was frank and straight forward with us today. As Byron put it, Dr. Koyle lived on the sunny side of the fence; Dr. Furness on the other :) It's not that he didn't have good things to say, he was just definitely more frank. He said that during the surgery he wasn't going to speak much because Squirt is a complicated puzzle and he needed to have his wheels spinning at every turn. Byron found this statement scary but I think it made me trust Dr. Furness even more. He is the missing ingredient to an almost perfect recipe.
We also have to start giving Squirt testosterone cream 2 weeks before the surgery to give him a little "extra" to work with. He also said that with getting his parts revved up, he will also heal faster.
