Today we had a very informative meeting with Dr. Dorine Day, super-awesome perinatologist, to see about adding to the family. There was so much information we covered I can't quite figure out how to bundle it all without writing a novel, so I will just skim. We are testing for an underlying condition. They took 8 viles of blood each one testing for something different. I only can remember one specifically
MTHFR. I know there were a few factors on the list and a couple having to deal with Lupus antibodies. I really hope they find something in those viles. As soon as we know, we can then start talking about therapy. It could be as simple as a baby aspirin a day and higher doses of b vitamins to blood thinners. They should have the results in a few weeks.
The other thing to consider is what happened with Squirt was random. She described a uterus like a garden when it comes to implantation. You throw seeds in the garden and in some places your plants just grow better then others. Squirt may have just been in a bad place in the garden. Nothing we can do about that.
At the end of our meeting, she told us directly that her opinion was if we wanted to have another child we should go for it. She would be there to help as best she could. I absolutely 100% trust her.
Now, if you are wondering when we may start after we find out all this information, truth is so are we. A year ago, I would have thought we would have been trying by now. We would have already seen Dr. Day, my ob, and a fertility doctor. I'm hoping it will be a little more relaxed than that when the time is right. We can't plan everything as I found out the first time. We are just trying to be proactive instead of reactive.
